The family of the deceased employee of the Crimean safari park "Taigan" will receive assistance.
This was reported by the park's director Oleg Zubkov.
The incident in the park occurred when a woman entered a cage with three lions and did not close the bolt between the enclosures, RIA Novosti reports.
The predators attacked her and inflicted fatal injuries. The park employee died from her injuries.
The Russian Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case into this incident.
Zubkov noted that the cause of the tragedy was human error.
The employee worked at Taigan for 18 years and knew the animals’ habits well.
The park director also said that the family of the deceased will be provided with comprehensive support and assistance with funeral arrangements.
Safari Park "Taigan" is known as the largest in Europe in terms of the number of predators.
The park is home to about 60 lions, more than 50 tigers and hundreds of other animals.
