With the arrival of summer, insects, including mosquitoes, become more active in cities.
We will talk about the reason for the mosquito riot in the Russian capital.
Moscow is home to a large number of blood-sucking insects – mosquitoes. The reason for this is high humidity. The Moscow Agency reports details, citing entomologist Roman Khryapin.
It is noted that the mosquito invasion arose primarily not because of the hot weather, but because of the humidity that occurs after rainfall.
According to Khryapin, mosquito larvae are often found in stagnant bodies of water, so the more water, the more mosquitoes. High temperatures also affect the development of larvae.
He noted that rains in the Russian capital contribute not only to an increase in mosquitoes, but also flies.
It is added that when waste comes into contact with water, a rapid process of decay occurs. This leads to the successful emergence of insects.
