Hot weather often makes people very thirsty.
To quench it, many people use water, including mineral water.
Mineral water is not suitable for quenching thirst in the heat. The Moscow Agency reports details with reference to Valentina Galkina, a neurologist at the Sergiev Posad Hospital.
It is noted that mineral water contains a lot of gases, salts and sodium. All this creates a deceptive feeling of quenching thirst.
According to Galkina, people drink such water, believing that it quenches their thirst. In fact, it can cause dehydration.
She noted that drinking large amounts of mineral water can lead to swelling and kidney problems.
The doctor added that a moderate amount of mineral water can bring enormous benefits to the body, but one should not ignore regular drinking water, since it is the one that can quench thirst.
To improve your well-being in the heat, she advised using a damp towel and a cool shower.
