On average, you can eat about 400-600 grams of watermelon and melon at a time. That's 2-3 slices. RIA Novosti reports details with reference to Lyudmila Sukhorukova, a gastroenterologist at the Vidnovskaya Clinical Hospital of the Moscow Region Ministry of Health.
It is noted that the pulp of these fruits is nutritious, so with a balanced diet it is difficult to eat a lot of it.
According to Sukhorukova, pregnant and breastfeeding women are allowed to eat no more than 3 slices of melon or watermelon per day.
She noted that the norm for children is different. For a child under 3 years old, a portion of 100 grams is allowed, and for children under 2 years old - no more than 50 grams. Children from 6 years old can consume from 200 to 400 grams.
It is added that melon and watermelon can be beneficial. For example, watermelon has a beneficial effect on protein metabolism, and melon can help improve hair and skin.
