A cardiologist therapist explained when and why a person begins to smell of “old age.”
Russian doctor Andrei Kondrakhin shared a comment on this topic.
In a conversation with Vechernyaya Moskva , the doctor reported that the “smell of old age” begins to appear after 50 years.
There are several reasons: urinary incontinence, digestive problems and malfunctioning fat cells.
The doctor added that microbes that are not typical for a healthy person appear in the skin folds of an elderly person.
These organisms feed on sebum, which leads to the development of “old man odor.”
In addition, such a smell may appear while taking certain medications.
Kondrakhin also said that this smell can be made less pronounced if you follow all the rules of personal hygiene.
But the doctor noted that many elderly people find it difficult to take care of themselves.
