Dmitry Medvedev has put forward a requirement for children of migrants who attend Russian schools.

The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation considers the situation unacceptable when three quarters of first-grade students do not speak Russian.

The former Russian president explained his position on migrants and their children, TASS reports.

The politician noted that a foreigner coming to the Russian Federation for seasonal work should not bring his family to the country.

If children of migrants go to school, they must gradually learn Russian.

Medvedev emphasized that he is against rudeness and pressure in this matter. But either the child learns the language or must leave school, the deputy chairman of the Security Council said.

Russia must avoid situations where a first grade is recruited in which three-quarters of the children do not speak Russian.

Before this, there were proposals in the Russian Federation to completely ban migrants from bringing their relatives into the country. But this initiative caused controversy among deputies.
