The Human Rights Commissioner of the Russian Federation commented on the recent actions of the management of the video hosting site YouTube.
According to Tatyana Moskalkova, blocking Russian users’ channels is nothing more than digital Russophobia.
The politician expressed this opinion on her official Telegram channel.
According to Moskalkova, the video hosting service, through its actions, supports digital discrimination and contributes to the violation of the right to freedom of speech.
The Human Rights Commissioner recalled that over the past months of 2024, the service has already blocked more than 80 channels of Russian citizens.
Moreover, we are not talking about political figures, but about artists and media representatives who are guilty only of not being afraid to openly support the Russian authorities and express their opinions.
Therefore, Moskalkova believes, such a massive blocking of Russian citizens’ channels is nothing more than “discrimination and digital Russophobia.”
