Deputy Nina Ostanina believes that the demographic problem in the Russian Federation is complex.
If we talk about one-room apartments, they are only part of this issue, the chairperson of the State Duma Committee on Family Protection, Fatherhood, Motherhood and Childhood is sure.
In a conversation with Lenta.ru, Ostanina noted that the housing issue plays an important role in the context of having children.
Eight-meter studio apartments are definitely not conducive to this, the deputy emphasized.
“That’s right – it’s a large, spacious apartment, better yet a private house,” the parliamentarian shared her opinion.
If housing conditions are improved, this will help solve the demographic problem.
But she added that the housing issue is only part of the topic. There are other nuances that influence Russians' desire to have children.
Therefore, the solution to the demographic problem should be approached in a comprehensive manner and not limited to housing alone.
