Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that the valuable document in the archive was in fact a forgery, the Izvestia article emphasizes.

The deputy director of the Russian State Museum of History contacted law enforcement agencies.

She stated that a similar document was put up for auction on the website of the Spanish auction house International Autograph Auctions Europe SL.
