Plans of a popular Chinese resort related to Russian tourists have become known.
In 2024 alone, they plan to receive around 200 thousand people from Russia here.
The CEO of Hainan United Airlines Tourism Group, Sun Yong, shared these plans with RIA Novosti journalists.
As Yun noted, last year Hainan Island received only 100 thousand tourists from Russia.
However, already in 2024 this figure will double: the Chinese authorities expect that over 200 thousand Russians will visit the resort.
The hotel infrastructure is developing at full speed on Hainan Island. In the future, China plans to receive at least half a million Russian tourists annually, so the resort plans to increase the number of Russian-speaking personnel and Russian cuisine at public catering points.
It is noted that these figures are still far from pre-COVID indicators. In 2019, the island was visited by about 930 thousand people from Russia, with Russian charters accounting for about half of all foreign flights.
