The upcoming New Year holidays in Russia will last 11 days.
Russians will have holidays from December 29, 2024 to January 8, 2025.
The decree on holidays and days off in the new year was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, the Russian government's Telegram channel reports.
The report says that in 2025, January 4th and 5th will fall on Saturday and Sunday.
Since these are non-working holidays, it was decided to move them: January 4 (Saturday) to May 2 (Friday) and January 5 (Sunday) to December 31 (Wednesday).
As a result, in 2025, Russians will have the following non-working days: February 22 and 23, March 8 and 9, May 1-4, May 8-11, June 12-15, and November 2-4.
In addition, the transfer of:
- from Sunday, February 23 to Thursday, May 8, from Saturday, March 8 to Friday, June 13, from Saturday, November 1 to Monday, November 3.
Also, Wednesday, December 31, 2025 will be a non-working day due to the transfer from January 5.
Thus, the New Year holidays in 2025 will last 11 days.
