Belarus opens case against driver of bus with Russians involved in accident

The Investigative Committee of Belarus has opened a case against the driver of a bus that was transporting Russian citizens and got into an accident.

The accused is reported to have violated traffic rules and driven into a ditch.

The investigation concluded: “The bus driver fell asleep at the wheel, as a result of which the vehicle skidded off the road and crashed into a tree,” as reported by TASS .

It is reported that the medics who arrived at the scene hospitalized two passengers and the driver.

In addition, it is emphasized that the traffic accident occurred at the 313th kilometer of the M-1 highway.

There were 48 people inside the vehicle that ended up in a ditch.

As the investigation determined, the bus driver is accused of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.

The injured Russian citizens were taken to medical facilities and are receiving the necessary medical care.
