ATOR has spoken out about so-called non-refundable rates in hotels.
The question of introducing this option has not yet been decided, but it is possible that they will return to it.
Vice President of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia Artur Muradyan stated this in an interview with RIA Novosti .
It is noted that the Ministry of Economic Development announced the development of this bill in February 2024, but subsequently abandoned the idea.
According to the department's idea, it was planned that the payment made by tourists for the tour would not be returned if the booking was cancelled. An option was also provided, thanks to which it would depend on the hotels whether to set a refundable or non-refundable rate.
As Muradyan emphasized, ATOR has not yet refused to continue discussing this bill, since both tour operators and the hotels themselves are interested in it.
Moreover, the expert emphasized, de facto such tariffs have long been used in practice, but not all tourists are aware of this.
