It has become known about the measures that were taken in the Tomsk region to save the harvest.
A state of emergency has been declared in the region.
The regional governor, Vladimir Mazur, shared this information on his Telegram channel.
According to the head of the region, about 3,000 hectares of crops have already been destroyed.
The weather conditions pose a threat to the harvest and crops. The weather in Tomsk Oblast was too damp and cold, which is why the soil was too waterlogged.
According to Mazur, the situation, close to critical, has developed in Tomsk, Asinovsky, Bakcharsky, Zyryansky and Pervomaysky districts.
It is noted that some local authorities have already established a state of emergency so that farmers can count on compensation.
Mazur ordered constant monitoring of what was happening in the fields and to conduct the harvesting campaign around the clock if favorable conditions were established.
Farmers should not be left alone to face difficulties, the official concluded.
