The performer of the hit “I am Russian” expressed his intention to register a trademark of the same name.

Yaroslav Dronov, better known as Shaman, plans to produce and sell various types of products, including alcoholic beverages, under his personal brand.

However, as it turned out, not everyone liked the performer’s ambitious intentions.

RIA Novosti received a letter addressed by the organization “Veterans of Russia” to the director of Rospatent.

According to representatives of the all-Russian movement, the singer should be denied registration of the phrase “I am Russian” as a trademark.

According to Veterans of Russia, such a trademark concerns not only the interests of the most honored artist of Russia, but also the national identity of the country.

There is a risk that the emergence of the brand "I am Russian" will lead to the commercialization of patriotism. Therefore, the organization that approves trademarks must take a careful and responsible attitude to such issues.
