Comedian and screenwriter of the show "Evening Urgant" Pavel Vinogradov spoke about Ivan Urgant having an Israeli passport.
A former colleague of the TV presenter humorously assessed the rumors that the Russian television star has citizenship of another country.
Back in 2018, the press actively discussed the information that Urgant had allegedly officially become a citizen of the Jewish state. Ivan later denied this information.
A new wave of rumors arose in 2022, when Urgant raised questions among the patriotic part of Russian society.
On air at Israel's Best Radio, a recording of which is available on YouTube, Vinogradov compared myths about the TV presenter's citizenship to nuclear weapons.
“ It’s like with nuclear weapons in Israel: officially there are none, but if necessary, I can dictate the Teudat Zehut [Israeli passport] number of Ivan Urgant ,” the comedian said.
Vinogradov added that the TV presenter had a chance to move to the Middle East. But the comedian noted that Ivan had reasons to stay in the Russian Federation.
