Ekaterina Andreeva had a falling out with Nikita Mikhalkov over Ingeborga Dapkunaite.

The TV presenter wanted to give the Oscar winner advice about his film Burnt by the Sun, but the master's "director's ego kicked in."

Andreeva shared details of the earlier conflict in an interview with Svetlana Bondarchuk for her YouTube project “Sveta Around the World”.

She shared that she was delighted with the script of the first part of "Burnt by the Sun" and was pleased with the selection of actors.

But the dispute began when Mikhalkov began work on the sequel. The director suddenly decided to invite Victoria Tolstoganova to play the role of the wife of the main character, division commander Sergei Kotov.

In the first part, Marusya was played by Dapkunaite. Andreeva explained that she considered Tolstoganova a wonderful actress, but Ingeborga was better suited for the role.

The TV presenter tried to convey her opinion through Nikita Sergeyevich's relatives and friends. But the director did not want to listen.

“Because the director’s ego was already in play here. <...> He chose as he saw fit, and after that he didn’t speak to me for many years,” Andreeva said.

Tolstoganova starred in the second and third parts of the film "Burnt by the Sun".

Earlier, Mikhalkov spoke about the existing list of cultural figures who are “untouchable” in Russia.
