The General Director of the Russian Film Actors Guild, Valeria Gushchina, spoke about what happened shortly before Svetlana Svetlichnaya’s death.
The Soviet film star was targeted by scammers who deceived the 84-year-old actress.
Gushchina reported this in a conversation with the publication “ Abzats ”.
The scammers contacted the Honored Artist of the RSFSR shortly after information appeared in the press that the actress had cancer.
Svetlichnaya had a large sum of savings. The artist collected these funds for treatment.
The criminals managed to convince Svetlana Afanasyevna to send all the money to the “doctor’s” account.
Gushchina emphasized that this was a huge tragedy for the actress's family. The celebrity had been saving money for many years: "We are not talking about ten thousand rubles."
The Guild's CEO noted that Svetlichnaya did not despair, wanted to live and believed in the best. But the scammers deprived the star of her funds.
This happened shortly before the actress's death. Svetlana Afanasyevna passed away on November 16.
