36-year-old actor Zac Efron nearly died while on holiday on the Spanish island of Ibiza in the Mediterranean Sea.
The Hollywood star was found unconscious underwater in a pool at his villa.
The actor was rescued by the villa's workers, who pulled him out of the water and brought him back to his senses, and then called an ambulance, writes the tabloid TMZ .
Doctors examined Efron and decided to hospitalize him "as a precaution."
He was discharged the following day. The artist's agent claims that Zach is "recovering very well."
The actor has been traveling around the south of Europe lately. Before Ibiza, he spent two weeks on a yacht with friends near the French resort of Saint-Tropez.
The media notes that this is the first serious incident for the actor in more than 10 years.
In the past, Efron shattered his jaw when he slipped on his toes while jogging at his home, causing Zac to hit his chin on a granite fountain.
