Anastasia Volochkova criticized ballet dancer Sergei Polunin, who decided to end his career in Russia and leave the country.
Polunin, 35, recently announced that his time in Russia is up and he plans to leave.
In a conversation with Lenta.ru , Volochkova did not show any solidarity with her colleague.
The dancer did not understand the meaning of the phrase "time is up here." In her opinion, only a weak person could say that.
She admitted that perhaps the real reason was a decline in public interest.
Volochkova emphasized that Russia gave Sergei an education, allowed him to build a career and bask in the rays of glory.
The ballerina believes that this is not how the artist should have treated Russia and his fans.
She is also sure that Polunin’s case cannot be compared with the situations in which Soviet ballet stars found themselves at one time: Anna Pavlova, Maya Plisetskaya, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Rudolf Nureyev and others.
In their case, the country did not allow them to develop and conquer new heights, Anastasia noted.
Polunin had every opportunity, Volochkova believes.
The ballerina admitted that Sergei is not completely frank with the public, because there is no such thing as “everything is fine” and “time is up.”
But Volochkova made it clear that she did not want to deal with this situation.
For such individuals, the star has only one phrase: “I want to tell him: “Bye, loser!””
