Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Alsu Abramova continues to defend her rights during the divorce proceedings with businessman Yan Abramov.
The singer filed a lawsuit for division of property with her ex-husband in a London court.
Lawyer Lyudmila Aivar reported this in an interview with Radio 1 .
She explained that Alsou has British citizenship and a British passport. This gives her the legal right to file a claim in a British court.
The couple also owns an apartment in London.
Alsou is currently working with local lawyers, as Russian lawyers are not authorized to work abroad.
Aivar noted that the UK court will carefully consider this case.
She stressed that British courts are known for their detailed investigation of all circumstances.
They will establish who purchased the property, with what funds and who used it.
The lawyer stressed that this could complicate the property division process, given the different jurisdictions.
