Alain Delon died on Sunday, August 18, French media reported.
In the last years of his life, the artist suffered from health problems and led a reclusive life on his estate La Brûlerie in the commune of Duchy-Montcorbon, which belongs to the Loiret department.
Le Figaro reports that Delon died at his home surrounded by relatives. Other details have not yet been disclosed.
In April 2024, it was reported that the court had placed Delon under enhanced guardianship.
Control over his income and property was given to a guardian whose name was kept secret.
Delon became famous in the 1960s, playing a number of iconic roles. Among them, for example, "Rocco and His Brothers", "In the Bright Sun", "Samurai", "Two in the City".
After this, Delon spent another two decades at the pinnacle of fame and was in demand in the acting field.
His creative work has been recognized with the Cesar and Golden Bear awards. In 2019, he was awarded the Palme d'Or for his contribution to cinema at the Cannes Film Festival.
