People's Artist of the RSFSR Raisa Maksimova has died.
She died at the age of 95 after a long illness.
The artist, who suffered from heart problems, was hospitalized with pneumonia, RIA Novosti reports.
After Maksimova was discharged, it is emphasized that an ambulance was called several times.
Sad news of the 94-year-old artist's death began to arrive on December 11.
Raisa Maksimova was born in Saratov on November 2, 1929.
After graduating from the Saratov Theatre School named after I. A. Slonov, she studied at the Nemirovich-Danchenko School-Studio at the Moscow Art Academic Theatre of the USSR named after M. Gorky.
Maksimova captivated audiences with her roles at the Saratov Youth Theatre. She also took part in productions at the Moscow A.P. Chekhov Art Theatre.
In cinema, she became famous thanks to her role as Aglaya Epanchina in the film adaptation of Dostoevsky's novel The Idiot.
Maksimova also starred in the films My Destiny, Widows, and the TV series Law and Order.
