82-year-old Georgy Asatiani, an artist of the Altai youth theater, died in Barnaul.
The sad news of the death of the actor who played more than 100 roles appeared on the theatre’s website on Tuesday.
The actor, a great master of the stage, died at the age of 83, the theater reported on its Telegram channel.
The Honored Artist of the RSFSR served in the Altai State Theater for Children and Youth for more than 40 years.
Georgy Asatiani is originally from Saratov. At the age of 12, he took part in the choir productions of Carmen and The Queen of Spades at the Saratov Chernyshevsky Opera and Ballet Theatre.
Asatiani studied at the Slonov Theatre School and worked at the Saratov Regional Puppet Theatre at the same time.
In 1968, Asatiani became an artist of the Altai Regional Youth Theater. And in 1986, he received the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR.
The actor was loved by the audience for his roles in “An Ordinary Story”, “The Rout”, “The Young Guard” and many other performances.
The theater reported that the farewell to Asatiani is planned for November 14 from 13:00 to 15:00 at the Altai Funeral Home.
