Soviet and Russian theater actor, star of many cult films Oleg Basilashvili commented on the remakes of Soviet classics.

According to the artist, filming sequels and remakes of once-famous films can be compared to trying to “put good make-up on a corpse.”

Basilashvili emphasized: “Modern directors only spoil the classics,” as reported by StarHit .

The actor also expressed confidence that Russian film production can create its own good films without looking back to the past.
