There are many theories about what causes high intelligence in humans.
However, which of all these assumptions and guesses is the most correct?
Candidate of pharmaceutical sciences, associate professor of the Department of Chemical Technologies of PNRPU Ekaterina Bankovskaya answered this question in a conversation with the portal " Doctor Peter ".
According to the expert, the size of the brain has absolutely no significance in this case.
The scientist's answer
Bankovskaya explained: “It’s not the size of the brain that’s important, but how the neurons in it form various connections between themselves.”
Thus, in particular, the more neural connections can be traced in the human brain, the smarter the owner of the said organ.
In addition, the expert recalled that there used to be a misconception that the male brain is more analytical and “agile” than the female brain.
Bankovskaya commented: "This opinion is wrong. Men and women simply react differently to stress and to incoming information. This is not related to intelligence."
