Phone malware poses a serious threat to users.
Member of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy Anton Nemkin spoke about the most dangerous ones.
These types of programs can cause significant damage by gaining access to users' personal data, RIA Novosti writes.
Nemkin identified three main categories of malware that are most dangerous for mobile devices
Viruses, spyware, and Trojans can disguise themselves as harmless programs. They are aimed at obtaining personal data from users.
Programs that request excessive permissions may use the information collected for advertising or other purposes.
Nemkin said that fake apps are especially dangerous. They imitate popular programs or services.
The user may think that they are downloading an official application, but in fact they are installing malware.
