The developers have announced a competition to create a new video player that will be integrated into the messenger.
The new video player will play both video and audio tracks, Telegram Contests reports.
Users will be able to enjoy content without switching to third-party browsers.
First, the player will appear in the mobile version for iOS, then on Android and in the desktop version.
The new video player will replace the current AVPlayer. This improvement will make the application more functional.
Third-party developers can offer Telegram their ideas for the media player until October 25.
The winner will be announced in November 2024. It is his solution that will be implemented in the messenger.
The creator of the best player will receive a reward of 50 thousand dollars (about 4.74 million rubles).
Telegram plans to introduce an updated player in 2025.
