Scientists have revealed a useful and simple habit that will improve heart health.
Experts have reported that regularly using the stairs instead of the elevator reduces the risk of death from cardiovascular disease by 39%.
A study on this topic was conducted by specialists from the University of East Anglia, writes the publication MedicalXpress with reference to the European Society of Cardiology.
The scientists reached their conclusions after studying information about the health and physical activity of 500 thousand people.
The habit of using the stairs instead of the elevator reduces the risk of death from any disease by 24%. It increases protection against cardiovascular diseases by 39%.
But this does not mean that you need to constantly exhaust yourself, for example, by climbing from the first to the ninth floor.
This is not about training for extreme endurance. Experts say that walking up 5-6 flights of stairs or 50-60 steps daily brings significant benefits to the body.
Earlier it became known that hackers attacked Russian companies through hacked elevator systems.
