Constantly using geolocation on your phone can cause personal data leakage.

Many apps running in the background collect user location data.

Developers of such programs can access geolocation, turn on the microphone or speakers of the device, experts from the Roskachestvo Digital Expertise Center warn in a conversation with RT .

The information may end up in the hands of criminals who use it for fraud.

They create fake ads linked to the user's usual places. A person who follows the link may lose their funds.

In addition, geolocation quickly drains your smartphone's battery.

Experts advise to opt out of this feature or to enable geolocation only upon request.

Russians are also advised not to share their location on social networks or tell strangers about it.
