The head of Roskomnadzor Andrey Lipov announced this on the sidelines of the Spectrum-2024 forum, RIA Novosti reports.
As Lipov emphasized, the agency has the ability, if necessary, to completely block calls coming through the messenger.
At the same time, the program itself will work and perform its functions, but you will not be able to make calls with it.
The head of Roskomnadzor emphasized that such a measure is quite strict, but it will be able to protect the personal data of messenger users and protect them from the illegal activities of fraudsters.
The agency is currently considering some of the issues that will affect foreign messengers. For example, the agency wants to oblige each company to make its product allow for limiting the acceptance of calls from abroad or not from the user's contacts.
