Roskachestvo has warned of possible threats to those who find abandoned smartphones.
Deputy Head of Roskachestvo Ilya Loevsky spoke about the risks associated with such finds.
A lost smartphone may be faulty, writes the Prime agency.
Problems with the battery can cause an explosion, short circuit, or fire.
Secondly, Loevsky added, the phone could have been disposed of specifically in the case of illegal activity.
This happens if the gadget contains compromising information.
Thirdly, there is a risk that the found smartphone was previously stolen and then thrown away.
In this case, the finder may come under police suspicion.
According to the expert, it is not recommended to take the found phone home or sell it to a pawnshop. It is better to hand it over to the police or to the employees of the establishment where the find was made.
