Musk Reveals What's Stopping SpaceX From Sending Humans to Mars

Elon Musk has found those whose activities are holding back the implementation of the Mars mission.

The entrepreneur has claims against the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Sending humans to Mars is a complex and extremely risky task, which SpaceX is trying to accomplish.

The company hires top specialists, spends billions and enjoys the support of NASA. But at the same time, the regulator strictly monitors the company's activities.

This angers Musk, who calls NOAA a real obstacle to the project.

“Humanity will never land on Mars if this continues,” the businessman commented on a publication on his social network page, which outlined the regulator’s requirements for preparing the launch of SpaceX vehicles.

Thus, the company was obliged to conduct 60-day consultations with NOAA departments. The corporation must prove that its activities are safe for the environment.

60 days is the minimum period. NOAA may extend the consultation indefinitely.

This information appeared before the fifth test launch of the Starship spacecraft.

A major new step towards Mars exploration is expected to take place in 2026, when an unmanned spacecraft is sent to the Red Planet.

A manned spacecraft will be sent to Mars in 2028.
