Kaspersky Lab experts have found a Trojan-type virus that is used for cyber espionage.
The malware targets Android smartphone owners in the Russian Federation.
Experts have named the virus LianSpy, Vedomosti writes. Programmers assume that they began attacking Russian devices in mid-2021.
At the same time, conventional diagnostics do not allow to identify the threat. The creators of the program tried to do so as to hide their actions as much as possible.
But Kaspersky Lab notes that the hacker attack is of a targeted nature. There is no talk of mass cases.
Experts first identified the malware in the spring of 2021. Since then, they have discovered more than ten targets.
In June 2024, cybersecurity analysts reported that Trojan spies had become a threat to users in Russia.
This malware collects information and studies the device's vulnerability, making hackers' activities much easier.
