According to experts, the virus is primarily dangerous for macOS users in China.
It is indicated that previously this Trojan was known only under the Windows operating system from Microsoft, as reported by Cnews .
It is known that the virus was distributed through self-extracting archives that were created using the Royal Road RTF program.
An unexpected threat
The virus is called HZ RAT and is known to have been spreading through Chinese messengers DingTalk and WeChat very often.
As experts have pointed out, the Trojan is dangerous primarily because it poses a serious threat to file security.
According to experts, this primarily concerns information that refers to the victim’s place of work and their contact information.
It still remains unclear why exactly and for what purposes hackers use the stolen information.
