Information has emerged that Russians may have their calls via messengers restricted.
IT expert Artem Geller told whether this will be possible to implement.
In a conversation with NEWS.ru, the specialist confirmed that technically this can be implemented, but it is quite difficult.
Geller doubts that this measure will bring tangible results in the context of the fight against fraudsters.
He noted that there will also be complaints from developers. They will not want to limit calls via messengers.
In this case, the competent authorities can simply block the entire service, and not its telephony.
This is quite likely if the company begins to evade the authorities' demands.
The expert admitted that it would not come to blocking calls.
But the issue of security raises many topics for discussion and is a reason for developing additional measures.
The specialist emphasized that fraudsters actively use instant messengers.
But this problem should be addressed first and foremost by product owners, developers, and security specialists.
