Scientists from the USA have discovered that the depths of the planet hide trillions of tons of hydrogen fuel.
In a new study published in the journal Science Advances , geologists have revealed how much hydrogen is actually hidden deep within the Earth.
Previously, it was believed that its reserves were small. But new studies say that the total volume could reach 5.6 trillion tons.
Scientists used a special model and data obtained during the study of natural reservoirs in Albania and West Africa for the calculation.
At the same time, geologists noted that 5.6 trillion tons is an approximate estimate. The maximum volume can reach 10 trillion tons.
If you take only half of this volume, it is still a lot.
But researchers emphasize that it will be quite difficult to obtain.
However, even 2% of this volume would be enough for humanity for 200 years.
Over the course of two centuries, people could use a small portion of the reserves to cover all energy needs.
