In Russia, the possibility of blocking Google services on devices with the Android operating system is being discussed.
Rostelecom Deputy President Darius Khalitov noted that such a measure could be introduced in the event of decisions by the American company.
According to Khalitov, the risks of blocking are indeed high, RTVI reports.
He also noted that Russian users of Android devices may encounter certain difficulties in using Google services.
He explained that Android source code may contain elements that allow blocking access to services.
Problems with Google's work in Russia became known at the end of September.
The Russian Ministry of Digital Development recommended that users of Google services create backup copies of their data, switch to alternative methods of two-factor authentication or to domestic platforms.
