The European Commission (EC) has appeared in the case of the global failure of the Windows operating system.

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) learned the details of what happened and found out how the EC is connected to it.

The global failure could have occurred due to Microsoft's agreement with the European Commission, WSJ reports, citing a representative of the IT company.

The agreement obliges Microsoft to provide full access to its operating system (OS) to creators of security software (SW) to operate "at a very deep level."

Microsoft employees and security software developers have the same level of access to all tools.

WSJ notes that Apple refused to agree with the EC. As a result, Windows crashed, while the "apple" OS worked normally.

The operating system malfunction occurred on July 19. The failure was recorded in various countries around the world.

There was a lot of information about the disruption of airport operations. While the IT giant was fixing the OS, airport employees were issuing tickets manually.
