Greeting cards can be dangerous, experts warn.

They may contain viruses and phishing links.

Kaspersky Lab told RIA Novosti how to protect yourself from these threats.

The main data of the study indicate that 62% of respondents receive and send greeting cards via messengers.

Also, 28% of respondents receive postcards but do not send them themselves.

At the same time, 65% of respondents believe that it is easy to infect a smartphone with a virus through such images.

Head of Kaspersky GReAT in Russia Dmitry Galov confirmed that the attackers are using mailings with greeting cards.

According to Galin, there were cases of sending archives under the guise of greeting cards.

These archives contained malicious files.

In this way, the scammers tried to take over the victims’ messengers.
