Fraudsters have learned to skillfully fake website pages on the Internet.
Copies of social network pages, on “Gosuslugi”, in personal accounts of banks, well-known online stores lead to phishing pages.
Vasily Shutov, a lecturer at the KB-1 "Information Security" department at RTU MIREA, told RT how to protect yourself from this risk.
Fraudsters have learned to create copies of popular social media pages, as well as stores and banks, that are indistinguishable from the original.
When you enter your personal data and bank card number on such a site, the information falls into the hands of scammers.
Shutov explained that this threatens the loss of users’ funds.
The expert advised to always check the address bar with the original, paying attention to the lock icon.
He also said that attackers often use the domains "xyz", "top" and "club".
An expert warns against clicking on suspicious links.
The sites that are used most often should be added to bookmarks to avoid getting a fake.
