Durov said that Telegram can disclose user data if it receives a legal request from the police.

He noted that scammers used Telegram to sell illegal goods.

Now such content is no longer available in the messenger.

In addition, Durov explained that since 2018, Telegram has been transmitting IP addresses and phone numbers of criminals at the request of law enforcement agencies.

Durov made the statement after his arrest in France in August, where he was accused of insufficient moderation.
