Putting things off until later is typical for each of us.
But when this becomes a chronic, permanent phenomenon, the negative consequences of procrastination (putting things off) appear.
This includes a worsening of your financial situation, and communication with loved ones, and your moral state worsens because things are piling up, and at one point you will still have to take them on.
If a task can be done in less than two minutes, do it!
Think about it: a huge number of everyday tasks can be completed in less than two minutes.
For example, wash your plate, put your documents back, gather your papers in your desk after finishing work, put cream on your face before going to bed, send mail, congratulate a relative on their birthday.
By doing everything on time, you save both energy and time. You won't have to wash a mountain of dirty dishes, look for your passport when you need it, because you can take it right away if it's in its place.
You won’t regret spilling coffee on documents, feel awkward in front of your second cousin, making up excuses for why you didn’t congratulate him on time, and only call the next day.
Spring cleaning will take much less time if you maintain order by following the two-minute rule.
Take a two-minute start towards a big goal!
Are you putting off that huge report from day to day? Or maybe you decided to start exercising with the arrival of spring, but now March is ending and you still haven't gotten around to going for a run or to the gym?
Two minutes will help you get started! Take just two minutes – that will be your start. Then everything will go smoothly, the process will boil, you will continue with great enthusiasm, because starting is the hardest thing. And you did it.
You can do everything, the main thing is to master your own laziness, to subjugate it. You are stronger than laziness!
Two minutes to develop a habit
Big things start with small things. Can't you make it a habit to drink a glass of water in the morning to get your body going? What, does pouring water into a glass and drinking it take a lot of time? It's less than a minute. But how much benefit!
Need to start learning English? Spend two minutes learning at least 5 new words. Is that too much to ask of yourself? 5 words in 120 seconds. It's as easy as pie. So take short two-minute breaks to expand your vocabulary. 20 words a day is already good.
You see, the main thing is to start! And this does not require much effort from you. But how much simpler and more orderly your life will become. In a couple of minutes!
