When you want radical changes in your life, it begins to seem that the onset of a new year is the best time for drastic changes.
One gets the impression that after December 31st life will definitely change and dreams will come true.
However, in practice, things are not so simple. Many people face the fact that even in the new year, dreams remain dreams.
Psychologist Mikhail Labkovsky spoke about how to fix the situation in his Telegram channel.
The expert noted that when you are young, change seems like an exciting challenge that is much easier to accept.
With age, Labkovsky pointed out, the psyche "ossifies." Changes are frightening, even in cases where they are likely to lead to the better.
The main question: how not to be afraid of changes when there is a strong desire to start life from scratch? The psychologist gave 2 pieces of advice:
1. Stop judging the changes and accept them as a given. For example, “Yes, I will move. Yes, I will need to look for a new job.”
2. Next, you need to regain a sense of control over the situation, because any changes force you to get out of your “comfort zone”.
Without any judgment, imagine what you would do in a given situation. For example, think about what you would do if you didn't find a new job in the next few months after moving.
