How a person can learn to respond to criticism

In every person's life there were people who criticized him.

And, unfortunately, it is not always possible to turn a blind eye to unpleasant comments, because they often come from close people who really want to help the person.

But what if the individual does not need such care?

Any criticism is disguised aggression and a person’s desire to increase their self-esteem at the expense of someone else.

Why do people hate criticism so much?

The thing is that a person does not know how to react to it correctly. If the criticism is unexpected, he may fall into a stupor and not answer anything intelligent to his interlocutor.

And if a person suffers from low self-esteem, then he will begin to scold himself and consider himself worse than other people.

At the same time, if a person responds emotionally to criticism, then this is normal, because most often the words spoken by the opponent can be unpleasant to the individual.

Why do people criticize anyone at all?

The internal attitudes of the individual are to blame for everything. No one will criticize a person for no reason.

If a person has an inflated self-esteem, he is sure that other people are wrong, but he is always right.

Of course, he will tell his interlocutors how they should act in a certain situation.

As for the relationship between a boss and a subordinate, here too one can encounter criticism.

The boss believes that by criticizing a subordinate, he improves the quality of his work, but often he only makes it worse.

Criticism can also be found in relationships. Most often, one partner criticizes the other: he simply wants to change his beloved, but criticism will not help much here.

What a person should do in response to criticism

"I don't care what you think about it."

This is a universal answer that will help a person avoid further discussion of a topic that is unpleasant for him.

"First we need to analyze the situation"

If the criticism turned out to be destructive, then such a response will help smooth out the rough edges and at the same time the person will remain a well-mannered individual.

You can even not respond to criticism at all. A person chooses his own reaction to what the interlocutor says to him. He can weigh all the pros and cons before entering into a dialogue with someone.
