The ability to apologize when necessary is not available to everyone.
However, there are a number of cases where this is not at all necessary.
We figure out when it’s okay to sacrifice your manners and forego the need to apologize.
When Apologies Are Unnecessary
You should never apologize for telling the truth, even if it may hurt someone's feelings. For example, if you didn't like the food, you don't have to lie to avoid hurting the feelings of the person who cooked it.
You also shouldn't apologize for your refusal, especially if it doesn't concern any promise made earlier. That is, if you are asked to stay late at work, you have every right to refuse and not be ashamed of it.
Don't apologize for your principles and views on life. How you live is your own business.
Don't try to blame yourself for spending extra money on yourself. If no one is starving or in debt, you have the right to treat yourself to a cup of coffee and a delicious cake if you really want to.
And certainly, you should never apologize for your ignorance (unless, of course, we are talking about legislation). It is important to remember that a person is not a machine, and he is not obliged to remember everything.
Earlier we wrote about why a man doesn’t apologize.
