The United States did not notify the Russian Embassy in Washington about the detention of the arriving Russian journalists.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Russian Federation will not leave the detention of journalists at a US airport without a response.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, gave a comment on this matter in her Telegram channel.
She explained that the journalists acted in accordance with the documents, visas and permits issued to them to work in the United States.
Zakharova said that the journalists were detained at the airport, interrogated, and one of the operators was denied crossing the border.
His entry visa was cancelled.
At the same time, the American administration did not notify the embassy diplomats about the detention of the Russians.
Zakharova emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will not leave the actions of the American authorities without an appropriate response.
