Maria Zakharova spoke about the request that the government of Abkhazia made to Russia.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that Russia will continue humanitarian supplies of electricity.

Maria Zakharova made this statement at a briefing, RIA Novosti reports.

Let us recall that a difficult situation is developing in Abkhazia due to the shortage of electricity. Every year, from November to April, the country experiences power outages.

In connection with this, the state annually requests from Russia an electricity transfer in the amount of 15 million rubles.

However, this year the government did not include this amount in the budget, and therefore the country faced new difficulties.

It is noted that as a result, the Russian government decided to allocate humanitarian aid to Abkhazia.

The social electricity transfer will take place from December 23 to the end of February 2025.

In total, Abkhazia will receive 327 million kilowatt-hours from Russia.
