Maria Zakharova commented on the fake article by Reuters about the allegedly dead Bashar al-Assad.

According to the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the publication was carried out by countries interested in chaos in Syria.

Zakharova made this statement on Channel One, RIA Novosti reports.

Let us recall that a coup took place in Syria, as a result of which opposition forces took power in the country.

During the unrest, it was reported that the country's president, Bashar al-Assad, had died. However, it later emerged that the former head of state had left Syria, ordering a peaceful transfer of power.

The news that the president was killed is nothing more than classic fake news. And if it were not so, later, when it turned out that Assad was alive, the agency would have issued a refutation of the information published earlier.

And since there was no refutation, this suggests that the publication of the fake article was organized by the intelligence services of those countries that were interested in chaos in Syria.
