The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the words of Georgian President Zurabishvili about the European future of the country.
She said it was foolish to think that the EU could give anyone a European future.
It is simply stupid to believe that the EU can bestow a European future on anyone else, Zakharova wrote on her Telegram channel.
Salome Zurabishvili spoke about the preliminary results of the parliamentary elections in Georgia.
The President noted that she does not recognize the elections and considers their result to be Georgia’s subordination to Russia.
The Central Election Commission of Georgia has completed the vote counting from all polling stations.
According to the election results, the ruling Georgian Dream party received 53.91% of the votes.
Four opposition parties also entered parliament with a combined 37.78% of the vote.
Representatives of four parties stated that they do not recognize the Central Election Commission’s data and will not receive mandates.
The country's president said she does not recognize the parliamentary elections in the country.
